I didn t have high expectations when I first began reading this book The authors sometimes try too hard to be funny and witty Some of the motherhood myths were not myths for me at all I thought I wasn t going to be able to relate But I was wrong It took me a while to get there, but I did right when I got to chapter 7 Yep, it got me good Up until that chapter I was going to recommend this book to women thinking about becoming moms, to those who are pregnant and the ones who are just starting now [...]

3. I received an ARC from NetGalley 10 14 15 The points in this book seemed obvious to me based on my previous reading, but I think other women would benefit from it It is written with the almost too enthusiastic tone used in many books for Christian women, which wears on me after a while 10 27 15

5. I LOVE Karen Ehman She is so down to earth, but always shares practical wisdom This book was no exception Just what I needed in this season of motherhood with little I particularly enjoyed chapter 3 about the right way in motherhood Her cautions to not add to scripture on what it means to mother the right way, was very convicting Highly recommend

One of the things I really liked about this book was they didn t over generalize Too many books about marriage and motherhood make assumptions, and this one didn t This book regularly applied the thoughts, If you have a husband, or if you ve adopted In that way I felt it was a book for every mom, no matter your circumstances.

No Hoodwinked Mom s This job of being a Mom is hard enough without taking on extra Karen gives great ideas, and lots of common sense ideas that are overlooked in today s world on how to slow life down and create joy And how to separate your identity from the choices your kids make They are their own little people who make their own choices, and you are not their choices I would highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to be a better, less stressed out Mommy.

I was excited to read this book and really wanted to like itbut I didn t The advise and intentions were good, but the ability of the authors to keep a reader interested was lacking I also didn t like how the author bounced back and forth with stories, so I never really knew who was telling what I believe there are some that would eat up this book, but it just wasn t for me.

30. I grabbed a couple great mommy thoughts from this book, but at this point in my life most of it wasn t really relevant I wrote down the quotes scriptures I enjoyed and moved on I would recommend this for moms of teens
