  1. I DON T EVEN KNOW WHAT MY BRAIN IS DOING RIGHT NOW I THINK IT RAN AWAY THIS WAS SO SO GOOD So so so so good It was mind twisty and heartbreaking and the writing was simply superb and I just finished it and kind of wanted to hurl it across the room In the BEST possible way Omg why WHY.You are a glorious book, dear Daniel Tate, and I hate you a little little teeny tiny bit 3 3 In the best possible way So I absolutely thoroughly enjoyed Danny s narration Although, his name isn t Daniel Tate, obviou [...]

  2. I have a serious problem and that is CONTINUING TO READ BOOKS THAT I KNOW WILL RUIN MY LIFEBut like I m not actively doing anything about it so This story is fricken weird as hell and the narrator is so obviously unreliable its fantastic So the mc is a con artist who lives off the streets and sorta, accidently, conned his way into a very undesirable situation Its wild start to finish kids, just keep that in mind What I really loved about the book was the WRITING was so easy to read, it s fast pa [...]

  4. OMGOMGOMG this book is such a twisty mindfuck like I d think I know what was happening but then it d throw me off after which I d change my mind and it would start all over so towards the end I was like WHICH IS IT There s nothing better than a thriller with an unreliable narrator and love the lies pun in the title since all the main character does is lie Ugh, totally my kind of a thriller with almost all of the characters being so terrible and the ending is just so holy shit, it really is that [...]

  5. Someday I ll realize that the albeit fake instant gratification YA thrillers offer me IamsocleveramInot doesn t make up for the extreme annoyance at guessing everything early and I ll stop reading them Do you believe me As for Here Lies Daniel Tate, the only reason I finished it was my undying love for All Our Yesterdays Don t be like me.

  6. I loved Cristin s other book, so I was dying to get my greedy hands on this one I don t know how much I can say without ruining anything, so this will be vague I loved the characters, the story, the constant guessing, and the ending was mind blowing Do yourself a favor and pick it up asap Especially if you like mind fuckery.

  7. UPDATED COMPLETE REVIEW If you can read that synopsis and pretend you re not 1000 percent interested in this novel then you re a better liar than Daniel Tate Or accurately the con artist that s impersonating him The first question everyone always asks is, what s your name This simple truth provides a simple start for Terrill s incredibly addictive and twisted tale of a prematurely jaded impostor who quickly finds himself on the wrong side of the con The story, told through the eyes of a nameles [...]

  8. do i believe i don t know anych a lying narrative i didn t realise an imposter, a liar, a con artist can be such an addictive narrative of this story talk about messed up family mystery.

  10. I thought about writing a full review for this one I have quite a lot to say about it But alas, spoilers So, I ll just say that this was one thrilling, twisty, fucked up book, and I COMPLETELY LOVED IT An unreliable narrator is my favorite because you just never know I read so much that books are typically pretty predictable for me, but that all falls by the wayside when the narrator is this ballsy, sociopathic con artist I mean, there were definitely clues and my theory did ultimately pan out, [...]

  11. 3.5 stars I don t know if the ending was quite as fabulous as the 300 pages of buildup But darn it, the experience of reading this book was so fantastic I can t possibly give it less than four stars Man, what do I even say about pages 1 300 Terrill s style is truly so compelling and unputdownable I don t know how she does it, but I was hooked I feel suspense is the best when it causes me an emotional reaction This book certainly fits that criteria So many scenes went so far as to viscerally horr [...]

  12. THIS BOOKSO GOODME SPEECHLESS I felt so bad for Daniel This book is definitely much complex than it seems There was always some reason for what each does and by the end it all makes sense All you should know before reading this book is the synopsis because it feels so good to keep guessing The romance was blah but it does not take away from the book I can t say much without spoiling anything Really good thriller suspense which leaves you guessing at the end.

  13. I really enjoyed Cristin Terrill s debut, All Our Yesterdays, so I was excited when I learned she had a new book out Where AOY was sci fi, this Here Lies Daniel Tate had none of that What it does have is a great unreliable narrator, an engaging cast of characters, a good mystery, and a pace that borders on brutal Because there are no chapters, it was insanely easy to lose myself in this book I liked that one of the major characters is gay, has a boyfriend, and it s a part of who he is rather tha [...]

  14. This book has all the ingredients for a perfect YA mystery 1 Unreliable narrator 1 Missing boy 1 Imperfect family four unique siblings, one dead parent, one imprisoned parent, one absent parent 1 Runaway boy who was never loved. The author mixed them well and put all the characters together in a fancy house Then added Several cops A pinch of romance An old bicycleBefore serving, she sprinkled it with some orange dust The novel has a bittersweet flavour that will certainly appeal to most YA fansel [...]

  15. When I started reading Here Lies Daniel Tate , I haven t expected muchI went with simple mind like either the person is Daniel Tate or he is not like simple things loves me or loves me not typeBut then I read the blurb again and after reading only first few pages, it becomes apparent that the story is of a con artist who is simply posing as Daniel Tate So, we have a duplicate who is pretending to be Daniel, but can he fool the entire family, his siblings Patrick, Alexis, Mia and Nicholas , his m [...]

  16. After all these years a new novel by Cristin Terrill that sounds exactly like my kind of book MORE THAN A YEAR UNTIL THE RELEASE DATE calming breath We ll just have to wait for it patiently, we bookworms have a lot of experience with that, right

  17. Checkout my full ARC review on my blog omgbooksandbooks. You definitely need this book This is an incredible story about love and loss and trying to find one s place It is full of twists and turns You think Daniel Tate has all the secrets, guess again This book will keep you on your toes and make you doubt what you think is the truth We never really know who is the male behind Daniel Tate We get bits and pieces of his life but as this male continues the identity of Daniel Tate, this male s life a [...]

  19. Well, uh clears throat awkwardly That was than a little messed up Because, the highly intelligent and scientific question I m asking myself right now is this What the hell did I just read Okay, I know I am that one reader that usually goes looking for the freaky and the mind twisty but still What what even was this This is one of these books that I really can t say much for fear of spoilers but here goes I ll have no spoilers in this review, and here s hoping it ll be comprehensible enough spoi [...]

  20. Woah I wasn t quite sure what to expect when going into Here Lies Daniel Tate I only knew that I was excited to read a new book by Cristin Terrill This was unlike anything that I have ever read before in YA, and my mind is still reeling from that ending. Here Lies Daniel Tate is a difficult book to review, because I feel like one little word could spoil the book for readers The basic gist of the story, 10 year old Daniel Tate goes missing from a wealthy California community 6 years later, a boy r [...]

  21. Oh my goooood, this book was so messed up I loved it to pieces, it was AMAZING Best book I read this year What the hell just happened I m in awe I loved her first book, but this one this one is even better 10 stars and all my love, that s what it gets Full review soon if you believe me p Before reading it I need this like air Is it summer yet Come on June, I need you here already

  22. I KNEW IT, I KNEW IT, I KNEW IT Unfortunately this book didn t knock my socks off like I assumed it was just an okay read I had to push myself into reading but there are no chapters so at least that made the reading easier.

  23. Actual rating 1.5 but potential subject to change to a full one star I m struggling right now with my final review for this mystery thriller On the one hand, I m disappointed It could have been so much better the MC was not nearly as good at being a con artist as he thought could ve been that s all I ll say to avoid heading into spoiler territory the whole romance angle was pointless, and admittedly creepy as fuck Daniel is a 23 year old MAN, wooing a high school girl who s either 15 or 16 It s [...]

  24. Mini Review This book was so crazy YA thrillers at its best I loved the main character and the use of unreliable narration The writing is great, infused with tension that makes it truly unputdownable It s not a tiny book, but I read it in one sitting because I just had to get to the end It has no chapters, which I usually hate, but it completely works here The romance was the only part I could have done without It really added nothing to the book.Solid four one of the best YA thrillers I ve ever [...]

  25. I loved Cristin Terrill s All Our Yesterdays and was excited to read this So I felt that the last third ofHere Lies Daniel Tate was really excellent For me, the first two thirds of the book felt a little slow I think that the revelation made at that two thirds point brought the whole book to life for me view spoiler that one of Daniel s relatives knew he wasn t the real Daniel because they killed him hide spoiler Felt that was a revelation that should have been made much, much, much earlier Like [...]
